The restrictions affect the ability to apply skills in various facets such as customs, everyday activities and gestures. Examples include caring for others, processing events or routines for an activity
The Easy Read Toolbox aims to assist this field by using a correct approach to applying layout design such as imagery or wording to assist with teaching topics. Each year involves regular icons to educate a specified theme. The end of 2024 would see the festive season to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s as holidays particularly gift-giving involved. The design would involve the processes and considerations for gift giving such as budget, understanding a receiver’s interest or time management.
The design involves communicating the areas to ensure the user is aware of routines such as not over or under-spending, buying gifts the receiver will enjoy and avoiding buying last-minute gifts. Examples include understanding a deadline to buy a gift is required to avoid panicing, particularly leading to running out of ideas, as well as seeing if there are alternative gives to buy. Doing so, the example psychologically assists the mind to ensure a sensible routine for gift-giving.
