Intellectual disability across Australia has barriers through various restrictions from learning to workplace development and social health. The issues affect inclusion through education learning, development of life skills and employment workplace skills. The effect then leads to professional development in the workplace, education progression to learning topics and social exclusion.
The Easy Read Toolbox strives to improve the learning capability for intellectual disabilities through an easy learning method. In July 2023, saw the new financial year in Australia and aimed to easily convey mathematics scenarios for business owners, financial staff, and tax-related areas, as well as general numerical topics. The topic required assisting diverse audiences to assist with easy information such as charts, graphics, and percentages to teach skills involving numeracy.
The set of designs involved fractions and using pie charts to assist with percentages or 100%, halves, quarters, and thirds. The charts allow a wide range of topics from ingredient measurements, calculation numbers, and dividing and discount sales. The icons assist with business skills involving fractions, educational numeracy skills and independent mathematics skills.
